Four people have been remanded to Mpigi Prison till February 1, 2023 after they allegedly took part in actions related to examination malpractice, the Uganda National Examinations Board – UNEB has announced.
The suspects include Mukasa Desire, Bbuye Francis Philemon, Ssebuuma Frank, Ssebuma Frank and others still at large. They were remanded by Grade 1 Senior Magistrate, Fatuma Nabirye.
Justice Nabirye ruled the group will remain on remand on charges of aiding and abetting examination malpractice contrary to the UNEB Act.
“They have been charged with aiding and abetting examination malpractice, contrary to Section 36 of the UNEB Act 2021. They are also charged with another account of examination material/ information contrary to section 25 of the UNEB Act.”
According to UNEB, it is alleged that between 8th and 9th of November 2022, the suspects were in possession of electrical examination material and information and were equally involved in electrical transmission of the same.
