The Education Ministry Wednesday held a groundbreaking ceremony for the construction of the Uganda Business Technical Education Board (UBTEB) headquarters worth Shs.30b.
According to Rt. Hon. Justine Lumumba who officiated at the ceremony, the building will save shs.600m in rent expenditures annually.
Lumumba said the facility is fully funded by the Government of Uganda and the education ministry will be in charge of inspecting and monitoring works done by SEYANI BROTHERS the contractor handling the project.
“The contractor, the SEYANI BROTHERS execute the contract with precision to ensure that there is value for money. The ministry determines the skilling of the professionals therefore work should be done rightly,” Lumumba said.
This is part of the initiatives to celebrate 10 years of the UBTEB. Speaking about this, Lumumba congratulated all board members and staff upon this milestone.
“I wish to congratulate UBTEB Board and staff on the 10 years. Board Chairperson and Executive Secretary, I want to thank you for putting in place a competent team of professionals who have enabled the Board implement policy directions of Government,” she said.
