King’s College Budo fires teacher for Sodomizing students

Following earlier allegations of a teacher who had sodomized a student at one of Uganda’s oldest schools, King’s College Budo, the school has issued clarity on the matter saying it was inappropriate.

According to the School Headteacher, Mr. John Fred Kazibwe, whereas the school had earlier suspended the culprit teacher, thorough investigations established even more facts on the matter.

As a result, Mr. Kazibwe said the teacher will face disciplinary charges and thereafter, appropriate action will be taken in line with public service standing orders.

“On behalf of the Management, King’s College Budo, I wish to clarify on the ongoing social media frenzy about the allegations levelled against our male teacher, and Ghana house master by the purported mother to our former student in senior six, 2022,” Mr. Kazibwe wrote.

“Whereas we registered a sodomy complaint by the said student and had erroneously suspended him, we later conducted thorough investigations and established more facts. Accordingly, an apology was conveyed to the parent, with regret.”

He however, revealed the college is undertaking infrastructure developments, including installing more CCTV cameras around all teachers’ quarters, dormitories and entire estate to minimise recurrence of such, related or undesired actions.
“We apologise to all Budonians and Ugandans in general for the unfortunate incident,” he added.
