The health ministry Thursday assured that incoming travelers will only need to wait for two hours before they can obtain their Covid19 results.
According to Jane Ruth Aceng the health minster, the two hours run from the time of sample collection to immigration, baggage collection up to the time of receiving results.
She raised that to ensure the quick dispatch of these results, incoming travelers will be required to access and fill an online form.
“This will be resolved using an online dispatch system via email or WhatsApp. Those who do not have access to this will see their name on the screens erected at the waiting area and receive their results from a designated team member at the exit.
I want to urge all the incoming travelers to access this link and fill the form https://t.co/b8wTGJAgOw to ensure the process is quick,” Aceng wrote on twitter.
This however comes following a video that made rounds on social media earlier this week of travelers who were airing out their disappointment towards the idea of mandatory tests for those coming into Uganda saying that they waited the whole night to get their test results.
President Museveni earlier on launched the new mandatory tests saying that it is one of the measures that will deter further virus infections in the country.
The new guidelines demand all arriving passengers, irrespective of vaccination status and their country of origin, to undertake a mandatory COVID-19 PCR test on arrival at the Airport.
This however excludes children under the age of six. Travelers are also mandated to carry along with them a negative PCR test certificate obtained within 72 hours prior to departure from the country of origin.
