Makerere University Vice Chancellor Prof. Barnabas Nawangwe has said continuing students will resume their semesters in January with all assessments done physically and not online.
“When the new year begins, we will receive back our continuing students for their semester two examinations and they will be done here physically,” he said in his New Year’s message addressed to Makerereans.
He however, commended all learners and lecturers for endorsing online learning. He said it was a good strategy to keep studies running amidst challenges posed by the coronavirus pandemic.
“Gallant Makerereans I want to thank all the students and staff for the exemplary manner they exhibited following challenges brought by the Covid19 pandemic.
Due to the consulted efforts of our staff and students we continued with teaching and learning and even examined the students using the alternative assessment methods and we were doing this for the first time but we did it very well,” Nawangwe said.
